Two hour tour of hidden Cotswold villages with a cream tea served inside my 16th Century Secret Thatched Cottage
From the moment we entered the garden, we were greeted with a salver of mini scones and strawberries, Becky introduced herself and gave a little talk about the cottage and the thatched roof. Then, we went inside and experienced something that we’ll never forget. We got a tour of the cottage and were served a cream tea to beat all cream teas! Especially as my wife is gluten free, they bent over backwards to make sure she had a wide variety to choose from. Becky and her family are so lucky to live the dream in this very cosy cottage. We’re coming back again next year
My wife and I are from the United States and planned a trip to London to see all the typical sites and history, we were interested in a trip outside of London into a more rural area and started looking at western England for day trips. I found Secret Cottage online and checked it out. We corresponded with Becky regarding our schedule and asked for some guidance and she was great to deal with. Going inside her cottage was the best part of our trip to the UK, the tea was unforgettable and HIGHLY recommended.
Wonderful experience. Becky must have been cooking for days. If she gets out of the tour industry, she certainly could become a world class chef. To look around inside her cottage was a wonderful experience and helped us really appreciate what living in a cottage must have been like hundreds of years ago. Make sure she tells you about the kitchen stove. Becky and Polly, thank you for the most delightful conversation and for welcoming our family into you beautiful home.
You know when you know. It’s that feeling you get when you first go inside Becky’s Cottage. I was super excited because my sister had been before, but when you step inside a real dolls house, it’s something that stays with you forever. What isn’t there to like about this experience. Becky greets you like an old friend and serves you a delicious tea that’ll knock you off your perch. Unforgettable.
My mom & I toured with Becky this past weekend and it was easily the best day of our trip to the UK! The experience was great, the website helped immensely with booking our train from London and getting to Moreton-in-Marsh. Becky is funny and personable whilst spending time in her cottage, enjoying a huge and wonderful afternoon tea! Take the tour – it’s so special & you won’t be disappointed!
We were welcomed into Becky’s own thatched roof cottage and confronted with a huge table ladened with home baked tasty cakes and cookies to accompany our tea. It was bewildering, everything was delicious and we will be recommending this tour to everybody. It is a memory we will never forget. If you are thinking about taking this tour, stop thinking and book it. You will be so happy you did.
As for our cream tea, WOW…..is all we can say, from the moment we met Becky and her daughter Polly we knew we made a good choice, they welcomed us into their family home, it was like stepping back in time and all the information Polly shared about the Cotswolds was interesting. The food was out of this world, especially the scones. Becky and Polly, thank you for providing us with so many fond memories from our trip to England.
I cannot say enough about this tour, the cakes and scones were outstanding, but her egg sandwiches were the absolute best. The home cooking is in a class of its own. Becky is so genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, funny and hospitable, I could go on and on. The experience inside her cottage is unforgettable. My husband and our two daughters enjoyed it immensely, coming away with memories that will last a very long time, Becky and I will be friends forever.
My passion is old homes and antiques. Having a cream tea at Secret Cottage was the best thing we did in England! Becky is fun, knowledgeable, witty, entertaining and all around charming. We didn’t want to leave, it was the best tea I’ve ever had in my life, the spread of food was totally amazing and equally delicious. It was well worth the time and the money. I highly recommend this tour to anyone. Thanks Becky for making our trip to England extra special.
There aren’t many tours that you’ll do again, but I would this one. It’s totally unique, hospitality at its best. We were bowled over by the cream tea and the interior. Can’t fault it, neither will you!

My daughter, Diana and I took the Secret Cottage tour last summer while visiting England. We both feel it is the very best experience we had while visiting the beautiful country.... read more We saw and heard history that was priceless. Every portion of the tour was informative as well planned. I am reading Jane Austin and Adelstop at the present, a book I purchased while there. It comes alive after the visit. Also many British TV shows are filmed there and it helps recall the beauty and significance of the area. The hosts were more than gracious and very knowledgeable. The secret cottage and tea were a great ending to the tour. Please, if you have the opportunity to take this tour, do it. If we ever return to England we will not miss it. Judy and Diana, Montana USA

The tea and the end of the trip was fabulous, beyond my wildest expectations. I enjoyed seeing the inside of the cottage, talking with the owners and how it would be to live in one currently.
Overall, cannot say enough wonderful things about this tour, and the group that hosts it.
I pushed my husband to go on this tour, and he now agrees it was the highlight of our trip to the Cottswolds.
